GELA Professional Buddies Program 2018-2019

The Greater Edmonton Library Association is excited to announce its Professional Buddies Mentorship Program for 2018-2019. Last year you Speed Networked with us and this year we invite you to participate as mentors and mentees. We believe in fostering positive relationships in the library community. For mentees it’s a great opportunity to network and to talk to someone in the field they are interested in. Mentors not only get to share their knowledge and experiences they also gain new perspectives and insights.
We will try to pair you up with a person of similar interests to mentor/be mentored by. There will be a (non-mandatory) social event on November 7 from 5:30-7:30 at the Program Room at the EPL Strathcona Branch to give pairs the chance to meet in person. This program is intended to allow for a casual mentoring relationship to develop over the year/years to come.
Mentees: students (U of A and MacEwan), new professionals, or other interested individuals
Mentors: experienced library/information professionals
