GELA Prison Libraries Project
Liz Fulton-Lyne will be presenting our next orientation for potential volunteers interested in the Greater Edmonton Library Association (GELA) Prison Libraries Project. Please feel free to share with interested friends or colleagues.
PLEASE NOTE THE VENUE CHANGE: This orientation will be now held in the Basement of the University of Alberta Coutts Education Library.
The details are as follows:
Tuesday October 1
6-7 pm
Coutts Education Library, University of Alberta, Room LB-13
What will be covered:
- GELA’s history and ethos
- Current activities and programs
- Potential volunteer opportunities
*Note: An RSVP is required by Sept 28th. Please confirm via email to gelaprisonproject@gmail.com if you plan to attend. If there are not enough attendees to run the session, it will be postponed. We offer this orientation every few months.
Current volunteers are also welcome to come; the session will provide you with a broader perspective on what it’s like to volunteer with us, as well as some of the challenges and opportunities inherent in the work we do.
