Don’t you hate it when you’re reading a Wikipedia article and find that the citations are incredibly lacking? Ever hoped there was something you could do about that? Well, you’re in luck!
You are invited to a Wikipedia Workshop hosted by GELA and Wikimedia Canada! This event is for library and information workers who are interested in learning more about Wikipedia editing and citation.
Event Details:
Date: November 6, 2024 (6-8 pm)
Location: EPL Woodcroft Branch (13420 114 Ave NW Edmonton)
Please bring your own laptop or tablet for editing.
Registration deadline: November 3
It would be very helpful for the event to run smoothly if you created a Wikipedia account before arriving. Choose a username that is different from your real name or another internet handle you use, as usernames are public and cannot be changed later. If you choose to register without an email address, there is no way to recover your password if you forget it.
Please fill out the google form above to register and let us know if you have any dietary restrictions as we will be serving some light refreshments.
If you have any questions or prefer to register by email, you can contact us at gelaedmonton@gmail.com. If you have any specific questions about making a Wikipedia account, contact Chelsea Chiovelli at cchiovelli@wikimedia.ca.
Hope to see you there!
