EDMONTON, AB – August 14, 2025 – The Greater Edmonton Library Association (GELA) would like to congratulate the Civic Service Union 52 (CSU 52) on successfully reaching a signed Memorandum of Agreement with the Edmonton Public Library (EPL) on August 8th, 2025.
The CSU 52 bargaining team announced that after two full days of bargaining, a tentative agreement was reached that settles all outstanding issues between the parties. Highlights of the settlement can be found here on CSU 52’s website.
As an organization dedicated to supporting librarians, library technicians, library staff, students, and other interested parties in the Greater Edmonton area, GELA supports the improvements and enhancements to the work life of EPL employees resulting from this agreement. Unions are an important part of the library world, and an important part of GELA’s mission.
